ECFIU-Led Strikes Across North America: Arrests Made in Multi-Million Dollar Investment Fraud Network

Transnational crime groups used +44 UK numbers and fake brokerage platforms to steal millions from thousands of victims in Canada and the USA.
The European Crypto Fraud Intelligence Unit (ECFIU) is releasing further details of the coordinated raids conducted across Canada and the United States, which resulted in multiple arrests and the seizure of critical evidence linked to a transnational investment fraud network.
At approximately 6:00 AM local time, ECFIU agents and North American law enforcement officers simultaneously executed warrants at multiple locations. Witnesses reported hearing officers slam doors open as teams ran into the scam call center, catching suspects off guard and preventing the destruction of evidence. Inside the facilities, investigators discovered a sophisticated operation with dozens of workstations, each equipped with phones and scripted materials designed to defraud victims.
During the raids, authorities seized hundreds of SIM cards used to generate the +44 UK phone numbers that masked the scammers' true locations. Officers also confiscated more than $300,000 USD in cash found on the premises, along with computers, mobile phones, and documentation detailing the criminal network's operations. The seized materials are now being analyzed by ECFIU forensic teams to identify additional victims and track the flow of stolen funds.
"This was a textbook takedown executed with precision and speed," stated an ECFIU spokesperson. "The suspects had no time to react. The evidence we secured — SIM cards, cash, and operational records — will prove invaluable in building our case against this criminal network. We are grateful to our North American partners for their professionalism and coordination."
The investigation continues as authorities work to apprehend remaining members of the fraud network who are still operating. The ECFIU urges all victims to file reports immediately through the dedicated portal established for this case.
